The Double Spur offers 1/2 or full day rides that will take you through territory that seems virtually untouched by man. Enjoy the beautiful and vibrant landscape, captivating area history and the tranquility that comes along with a mountain ride. Does something a bit less taxing on your backside sound good? Stay at the ranch and take a ride through the pasture, or hone your riding skills with a lesson, all while enjoying 360 degrees of Rocky Mountains views.

Rustic* Cabin Overnights
 
Nestled on 160 private acres in the midst of the pristine Rio Grande Forest, delight in the character of this original homesteaded property surrounded by Nature at its best. Enjoy fishing, hiking, riding, visits from the local wildlife, campfires and more.

4 person minimum. If arrangements are made for a smaller minimum, an additional fee will be added. If you are a guest of the Double Spur Lodge for 5 nights or more, you will receive a discount on Cabin overnights.

If you have always wanted to experience life on a real working cattle ranch, this is for you! Drive cattle on horseback from winter to summer pasture; brand, check and doctor cows; eat off a chuck wagon and more. The Flying M Cattle Ranch is a family owned and operated ranch that has been in existence for over 59 years. Only recently has the ranch been made available to the public. This is the "real thing", consequently schedules will vary. Please call for more information.

The area in and around the Double Spur Lodge & Ranch provides hunters with a multitude of options. Whether you hunt black powder, archery or rifle, this is a great spot for Big Game.

5 day hunt / Cabin - $1750.00
 
Included in your hunt are all meals, cabin lodging, horses and experienced guide. Bring your own rifle, bed roll and personal belongings.
 
Our cabin sits in unit 79. Nearby (1 hr and 20 minutes by horse) is unit 76. Both units 79 & 76 are on a limited draw basis. Application for your license must be made by April 1st with the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
 
5 day hunt / Tent camp - $2250.00
 
Included in your hunt are all meals, tent lodging, horses and experienced guide. Bring your own rifle, bed roll and personal belongings. Our tent camp sits in area 68. This is an over-the-counter license.

A hunt of a different sort...

If relaxing in rustic elegance after a day of hunting is what you prefer, how about a self guided hunt out of the Double Spur Lodge? Our lodge sits in unit 80 which is an over the counter license. See website below for other over the counter units in the area.

All Western Adventures & Big Game Hunting Trips require advance reservations. Riders must be at least 12 years of age. Because of the inherent risks in and around equine activities, all riders must sign liability release forms. Under 18 - release forms must be signed by parent or legal guardian. All riders will receive instruction prior to riding. For the proper care of our horses, we have a 250 lb weight limit.
 
Remember when traveling and participating in mountain activities, the weather can be inclement any time of year. Pack accordingly. The altitude at the Double Spur Lodge & Ranch is 7,874 feet. Cabin altitude reaches to over 10,000 feet. Don't forget to drink a lot of water when visiting these high altitude areas.
