Welcome to The Double Spur Training Center, located at the foothills of the beautiful La Garita Mountains in Del Norte, Colorado. The Double Spur stands alone in this area for their excellent boarding, training, and breeding facilities.

Head Trainer Cole Walker, his wife Deb, and the entire staff are committed to providing you with a safe, clean, family environment, promoting education and enjoyment for horses and riders of every level.

CLINICS AND EVENTS
The Double Spur Training Center can provide experienced clinicians, as well as the perfect location to host your clinic. All levels welcome. Instruction ranges from basic horsemanship to colt starting, roping, versatility, reining working cow horse and more.

Cole Walker - Head Trainer
Colorado Native Cole Walker has over 30 years experience starting colts and training both horses and mules for ranch work, as well as for mountain and pleasure riding. Many of those years were spent as a working cowboy and ranch manager. He has spent the last 13 years training horses full time on his ranch, The Double Spur Training Center in Del Norte, CO. He trains, raises, and shows in competitive events, including Versatility ranch horse and team roping. In the past five years, he has become more focused on the reining and working cow horse disciplines, proving to be quite a competitor*.

One of the characteristics that makes Cole a great teacher and trainer is his belief that nobody ever stops learning. He attributes much of his success to what he learned while riding with trainers such as Lance Shockley, Andrea Fappani, and 7-time snaffle bit futurity winner (NRCHA) and 2-time World's Greatest Horseman Ted Robinson. He is thankful for all that these great riders and others have shared with him throughout his life, and he feels it an honor to pass it on to both rider and horse.

Cole is a CHA certified instructor and an AQHA Professional Horseman, who teaches horse and rider privately, as well as doing clinics for groups and associations including the NVRHA and RMQHA.

*In addition to other events and shows, Cole's placing at the largest Versatility event ever held confirms his talent as both rider and horse trainer. He and his 6 year old stud DB Jessie Peppy Boy placed 3rd out of 53 entrants in the reining working cow horse class. The NVRHA World's Greatest Versatility Horse event brought a 2nd place for Cole and his mare, We be Smart, in the reining working cow horse class.

Kassie Norton - Assistant Trainer/Intern		Will Smith - Assistant Trainer/Intern
Going on her 3rd year riding under Cole, Kassie has become an important asset to the continued success of the Double Spur. Her gentle yet firm manner with horses plus her true desire to grow as a rider and trainer gained her top placings last year at the NVRHA finals, including "Reserve All Around" champion in her division. We appreciate ALL you do Kassie!		After finishing his freshman year away at college, Will is returning to the DST center for the 5th year. A National Little Britches World Champion team roper and calf roper, as well as a High School National Finals qualifier, it's safe to say we're glad to have him back and grateful for all he adds to the training program here at the Double Spur. Thanks Will... Welcome Home!

	Jeremiah - Our Youngest Intern
	We get this intern full time! What a joy it is to see his love for horses grow, as well as his patience and desire to learn. At just 8 years old, he already has credits to his name... cutest, silliest, and truly ornery. We love you Jeremiah!!
